It’s my favorite time of the year – the Christmas lights are twinkling, the air is getting cold, and my workflow is happily slowing down. This time of year is a precious chance to catch my breath, soak in the holiday spirit, and, most importantly, reflect on everything 2025 brought to my business.
Between being a primary photographer and a second shooter, I had the privilege of capturing a combined 29 weddings and 30 sessions, truly an incredible number! This year, I felt a noticeable shift in my wedding photography – focusing intensely on deepening my storytelling. Moving beyond just the “must-have” list to bring more:
Creatively, I pushed my boundaries with light, composition, and texture. I spent the year embracing high sun, sun flares, light leaks, flash photography, and fun compositions. Delivering images that are sometimes wonderfully imperfect on their own can add incredible versatility and emotional depth when viewed within the complete story of a wedding day. The growth of my 35mm film add-on also allowed me to inject that nostalgic, timeless texture into my work.
Here is a curated collection of some of my absolute favorites from this year. And to all of my 2025 clients, thank you for your trust and for another incredible, inspiring year as a Virginia wedding photographer.
