I’m so excited to introduce you to Elizabeth, one of my wonderful 2024 brides! Her wedding package included a complimentary engagement session, but since Elizabeth and her fiancé, Griffin, had already enjoyed their session with me before booking their wedding, we decided to get creative. Instead of another couple’s shoot, Elizabeth suggested the fantastic idea of using her session for stunning bridal portraits in a studio setting – an idea I wholeheartedly embraced!
I couldn’t have been more thrilled, and we decided to capture this special moment at Atelier Studios in Lynchburg, Virginia, where the lighting and backdrops were simply perfect for showcasing her beauty. If you’re curious to see Elizabeth and Griffin in action, don’t miss out on the opportunity to see their iconic engagement session at Smith Mountain Lake! Check out my blog post to see all the fun they had running and jumping around the lake. You won’t want to miss it!
One special request Elizabeth had when it came to her studio session was to include her mom in the getting ready process. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Elizabeth’s mom was unable to attend any of her wedding dress shopping appointments or fittings in person. This studio session marked a truly special moment, as it was the first time her mom saw her completely transformed in her stunning dress and veil. Capturing those intimate moments of Elizabeth’s mom preparing her for this significant occasion was incredibly meaningful, and I know that both of them will forever treasure these beautiful memories.
Atelier Studios in Lynchburg, VA is truly a remarkable, versatile space for any kind of session. Their studio includes not one, but two sections of the property that are split between a wall separating them. Both of these sections have their own unique backdrops – including a crown moulding wall, a white brick wall (which we covered with a fabric curtain backdrop), multiple colored seamless paper backdrops (Elizabeth was obsessed with the navy blue backdrop that matched their wedding invitations), a white shiplap wall that just so happened to be decorated with their seasonal spring florals, and so much more! Elizabeth and I took advantage of just about every background that caught her eye so we could have the most versatility in her gallery possible!
The lighting in this studio is absolutely incredible. Elizabeth and I began our session at 12:00pm to get the most light possible coming into the studio, but truly any time of day would still give you beautiful, even light throughout the space. If you just so happen to have too much light coming into the studio, the windows along the property come equip with sheer curtains that help disperse and even out the light in the room. With the perfect lighting setting the stage, here are some of my favorite moments from our bridal portrait session together!
