As a Virginia based wedding and couples photographer who frequents the DC area, I have always wanted to shoot in Georgetown! The unique historic structures mixed with a jaw dropping cityscape & skyline across the Potomac River made for the perfect setting of this engagement session. This location absolutely did not disappoint with it’s ivy covered homes and stunning architecture.
Bianca and Matt are one of my Fall 2024 wedding couples, and chose to redeem the complimentary engagement session that came with their wedding package this past winter! There are so many reasons to have an engagement session with your wedding photographer before your big day, even if you already had engagement photos taken previously with someone else! It’s the perfect opportunity for you to meet your wedding photographer ahead of time, get to know each other, and get you both comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day! You may also become familiar with some of the prompts and poses your photographer will use on your big day! I have had many couples choose to redeem their session with me before their wedding day, and it just makes everything run so much smoother when you already know who’s walking through the door of your getting ready suite!
Bianca & I had chatted a bit about outfits for her and Matt before her session, so I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect when they arrived. But I was in AWE of the outfit choices they had picked out for our time together! For their first outfit, Bianca paired this classy white mini dress from Francesca’s with Matt’s black suit and white button down. We started our session down along the Potomac River, and the black and white outfits contrasted beautifully with the water and blue undertones of the Rosslyn skyline in the background.
For their second outfit, Bianca donned a simple black top with blue jeans and a plaid blazer she snagged from Marshalls! Her outfit was perfectly complimented by Matt’s tan high neck sweater and black jeans. Here are some similar jackets to Bianca’s from Amazon and Boohoo. After their outfit change, we strolled the streets of Georgetown and admired all that the city had to offer along the way. As we walked, we couldn’t help but admire ivy covered stairs, unique homes, and gorgeous architecture all along the roads. I can’t even count how many times I said “oooh wait lets stop here” during out session!
