Savannah & Caleb’s wedding at West Manor Estate was one of pure elegance and joy. From the moment I first spoke to Savannah about her relationship with Caleb during our consultation call, it was clear that they were so utterly in love with each other and simply put: ready to be married. When I asked Savannah what she was most looking forward to when she received her final gallery, she mentioned that she was really looking for a photographer that could capture the little moments of their wedding day: the details, their families, stolen glances, etc, in addition to all of the major events that happen at every wedding. They really wanted the focus of the day to be about the enjoyment of having so many friends and family present to celebrate their love for eachother.
West Manor Estate’s bridal suite bathed Savannah in glowy natural light as she was dressed in a fitted Jenny Yoo gown, a vintage lace veil, and satin gloves to complete her look. Caleb’s father (also his best man, I absolutely loved that touch), finished Caleb’s look in the gardens of West Manor Estate with a simple white and green boutonniere. Caleb had a soft, polished look to complement his bride: a tan suit, black tie, and brown shoes.
After a tearful first look with her father, and an even more emotional first touch with her groom, Savannah surrounded herself with love from her bridesmaids as they walked the gorgeous West Manor grounds. Each of Savannah’s bridesmaids were dressed in varying styles, textures, and shades of blue unique to their own personalities. Mismatched bridesmaids dresses have become very popular recently and are still one of my favorite wedding trends! Once we finished photos with Savannah’s bridesmaids, they helped polish her look for solo portraits around the manor estate house and grounds. The simplicity of Savannah’s gown was accentuated by her veil and gloves, and made for the most beautiful bridal photos.
One of my favorite things about being a West Manor Estate wedding photographer is the versatility of their venue. In addition to the vast ground of the Manor, this venue offers two different ceremony locations: an outdoor pavilion across from their gardens, and a stunning indoor glass atrium that surrounds your wedding ceremony with natural light. Although Savannah and Caleb were already planning to have their wedding inside the Atrium, this indoor option is a fantastic back up plan for anyone worried about rain on their wedding day at West Manor Estate!
The lighting inside the Atrium for Savannah & Caleb’s ceremony was absolutely perfect and I felt like I was in a movie. Caleb and the rest of the wedding party walked down the aisle before the clouds parted slightly and let a soft glow fall on Savannah & her father as she was revealed behind the glass doors of the Atrium. I will never forget the look on Savannah’s fathers face as he looked at his daughter before walking her down the aisle to her future husband.
Savannah & Caleb exchanged their vows and rings amongst family and friends, and included a unity braid in their ceremony to seal their commitment to one another. Just as they were about to share their first kiss as husband and wife, another glow of sunshine illuminated the couple as they finished their ceremony. Like I said – literally a movie!!
After family photos were finished, the couple and their wedding party walked back to the front of the estate house for additional portraits together. The wedding party’s blend of blues, tans, and subtle greens perfectly complemented the Manor Estate House and grounds. Everyone was so giddy from the ceremony, it wasn’t hard to keep the smiles on their faces as we took photos together. Once it was time for Savannah & Caleb’s portraits together, it felt so easy to take fantastic photos of them. Their chemistry together, along with their incredible wedding attire and the surroundings of West Manor Estate made for intimate, elegant wedding portraits.
Rain was on the way, so we worked quickly taking photos in front of the manor house and the gardens before Savannah & Caleb entered their reception in the West Manor ballroom. The couple shared an intimate first dance with each other to celebrate their new marriage before listening to speeches from their loved ones and eating their dinner. After a quick outfit change, Savannah & Caleb cut their wedding cake and headed to the dance floor to finish off the most perfect day with their loved ones!
“The day would not have gone as smoothly as it did without her help”
“Megan was seriously the best person we could’ve picked to take our wedding photos! From first connecting she was super friendly and easy to talk to. She was quick to answer emails and super organized. She made taking a bunch of pictures with big groups of family and bridal/groom parties such a breeze. The day would not have gone as smoothly as it did without her help. She was such a joy throughout the whole day and always had a smile on her face. It was really such a pleasure having her as our wedding photographer. Everyone has raved about how amazing she was. She was like a wedding coordinator, assistant, friend, and amazing photographer all in one!” – Savannah
