Jenna and Trent’s wedding was one for the absolute books. The simple black and white color combos mixed with colorful florals and the mountainous backdrop of Triple J Farms gave this wedding a classy, rustic theme. Before I even got to the venue, I knew this was going to be a wedding to remember.
Jenna and I had discussed so many details about her wedding leading up to the big day, including the fact that she hadn’t written her vows until literal hours before she walked down the aisle (relatable lol). A major topic of our conversations was her rain plan. The weather the ENTIRE WEEK leading up to her wedding day called for downpours for the whole day. She was absolutely heartbroken, as any bride would be, thinking that she wouldn’t get the day that she had been dreaming of her entire engagement. But boy oh boy did the weather-man come through! As I drove through Virginia that Saturday morning, I was pleasantly greeted by fluffy white clouds and blue skies. It was an amazing start to an even more amazing day!
After Jenna and Trent got ready in their respective suites at Triple J Farm, they opted to begin their wedding day with a first touch. Jenna expressed to me how much she really wanted to get that raw emotion of them seeing each other for the first time during the ceremony, but she had to at least feel Trent with her before she walked down the aisle. Their ceremony surrounded by friends, family, and mountains, was followed by a cocktail hour and reception. I was absolutely in love with the grounds of the farm. The light was coming through the trees so perfectly, and the subtle blue mountains paired with a luscious green field made for the perfect scenery for photos.
During their candlelit reception, Jenna and Trent had an amazing time taking tequila shots with friends, toasting to their future together, and cutting their adorable cake. Before I pulled them for golden hour portraits, we gathered everyone for the most gorgeous bubble exit you’ve ever seen. The light hit the bubbles so perfectly it made them beautifully iridescent.
Jenna and Trent decided to read their own private vows to each other right before their golden hour portraits. It was a beautifully intimate moment, there were lots of smiles, hugs, and tears (definitely not from me behind my camera). Then it was off to the other side of the farm for a few more fun photos to get them loose before gettin doowwwwnnn at the rest of their reception! They danced the night away and ended the most perfect day with a final newlywed dance to one of their favorite songs.
This wedding day was such a beautiful mixture of rustic, classy, and elegant. Never have I ever witnessed a couple exude such joy as I did on Jenna & Trent’s wedding day. The love and liveliness that surrounded these two was so incredible to capture. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that these two were meant to be. It was such an honor to document the beginning of the rest of their lives together.
“She made both me and my husband feel incredibly comfortable.. all while capturing more than everything I could have imagined”
“Megan is the absolute perfect photographer. I am so incredibly pleased with her, and I recommend her to anyone and everyone! From the very beginning before I officially booked her, Megan took time to speak to me to truly understand what I was looking for, my photo priorities, and just general ideas and thoughts about my wedding day. Megan and I stayed in contact, talking about flowers, wedding plans, and just general thoughts. She made both me and my husband feel incredibly comfortable. My husband even said to me “I usually hate the way I look in photos, but those photos of me are actually really good”… and if your husband or partner is like mine you know that’s the highest compliment from them!! Megan was truly the best third wheel, she stayed on top of the schedule (but not in a stressful or overbearing way), and helped me feel so much joy. The day was absolutely perfect, her timeline built in time for both Trent and I to relax and enjoy the day rather than rushing from place to place, all while capturing more than everything I could have imagined.” – Jenna
