This charming neighborhood, with its stunning historic architecture, lush gardens, and picturesque streets, was the perfect backdrop for Anna & Ryan’s Mount Vernon engagement session. As a Virginia wedding photographer who grew up right near Baltimore, Maryland, it was truly such a pleasure getting to come back to my home state to capture one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. Anna and Ryan chose to capture their love in the beautiful Baltimore city they both adore.
I had the opportunity to explore the city alongside this lovely couple, snapping photos that not only captured their joy and love, but also brought out the unique character of this beloved Baltimore neighborhood. From the charming Topside Bar to the stunning Washington Monument, every location of this session beautifully showcases the area’s charm. This engagement session at Mt. Vernon was an unforgettable day that I’m so excited to share!
To start off their Mount Vernon engagement session, I met up with Anna and Ryan at the gorgeous Topside Bar in Baltimore for cocktails. Ryan opted for an old fashioned, while Anna – being the classy woman she is – ordered a martini with extra olives, which became the perfect accessory to accentuate her engagement ring. You might notice as we get further into our session the number of those olives going down as she munched on them throughout our time together lol.
We took full advantage of the space, capturing stunning photos not just at the bar, but also on the cozy couch at the back of the restaurant, which offers an incredible view of Baltimore. We even ventured to the elevator for some fun, spontaneous shots with a romantic “let’s run away together” vibe. One of my favorite engagement sessions add ons that I offer is the option to add a second location – such as a bar, restaurant, or coffee shop – as well as a second outfit. The versatility that this adds to your gallery is so worth it – you can see for yourself! I absolutely love seeing my couples taking advantage of option. Interested in adding engagement photos at Topside to your session? Please be courteous and reserve a spot prior to your session!
If you’re looking for outfit ideas for your Baltimore engagement session, I am BEGGING YOU to use Anna and Ryan’s outfits as inspiration. For their first outfit, Anna popped up in a gorgeously cozy tan long sleeve maxi dress, and Ryan complimented her with a blue sport coat, white button down, and beige chinos. After leaving Topside, Anna and Ryan began strolling along the streets and sidewalks of Mount Vernon as I captured them running around like it was a 2000’s romcom movie in their classy attire.
After a quick outfit change, Anna came out in a stunning black long sleeve with rose cuffs and Zara jeans that fit her literally perfectly. I even asked her to share the link with me at the end of their session because I needed a pair for myself! Ryan donned a classic white t-shirt and black jeans, perfectly contrasting Anna’s top and colorful pants. I loved the different outfits that these two chose for their engagement session – starting with a romantic, formal attire and contrasting it with a casual outfit perfect for running around downtown Baltimore.
After their outfit change, I took Anna and Ryan on a little adventure around the charming Mount Vernon area. We started by exploring the picturesque streets, stopping by the stairs of some super cute homes that had so much character. Each one had their own unique charm and look, making them the perfect backdrop for some romantic and candid shots.
We then strolled over to the sidewalks around the Peabody Library, where the stunning architecture provided an elegant setting that perfectly contrasted Anna and Ryan’s outfits. The tall columns, stone stairs, and intricate details made for a great spot to capture some gorgeous portraits. I loved watching them explore the area, taking advantage of the beauty around them as they paused to share kisses along the walls of the library.
Next, we meandered through the gardens surrounding Mount Vernon Place. The vibrant flowers and well-manicured landscapes offered such a stunning contrast to their outfits, creating a dreamy atmosphere for our photos. It was so fun to see Anna and Ryan playfully interact with each other, laughing and walking among the greenery – their joy truly brought the place to life.
As I wrapped up our adventure around Baltimore, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the chance to capture Anna and Ryan’s relationship. Their excitement to marry each other was so clear, and I loved capturing them while they soaked up the beauty of this charming neighborhood. With their unique love story, stunning outfits, and picturesque backdrop, I know their photos are a beautiful reflection of their love – and I can’t wait for their wedding at The Belvedere in 2026, so stay tuned for more photos of these cuties!
