Capturing the moments when Nicole and her bridesmaids were bouncing on the hotel bed, popping champagne, and celebrating with the vibes of a Saturday night sleepover at Corduroy Inn and Lodge was an absolute delight! There’s something truly special about surrounding yourself with good energy while preparing for one of the most significant – and let’s be honest, sometimes stressful – days of your life. It really helps to ease any nerves that might be bubbling up before you see your partner for the first time – whether it’s during a first look, or at the altar.
Before revealing her final look to her bridesmaids, Nicole chose a more intimate setting for her getting-ready moment, sharing this special time only with her sister. Her sister created a beautiful and personal atmosphere as she helped Nicole into her stunning dress and delicate veil, preparing her for the big reveals with her girls and groom.
After a tearful and laughter filled first look, I captured one of my favorite moments from all of the weddings I’ve ever photographed – they played rock, paper, scissors to decide who would read their private vows first. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Josh lost the game, inevitably having to read first, but couldn’t quite get the words out as he became overwhelmed with the emotion of the day. Nicole took over instead, and together they exchanged their vows amidst the stunning backdrop of the large, majestic trees that surrounded Snowshoe Mountain.
Before the official ceremony, Nicole and Josh opted to get as many portraits, wedding party photos, and family photos as possible captured to ensure they would have time to soak in the day together privately after they tied the knot. After the couple finished their private vows, we took advantage of the gorgeous trees (and shade – that summer heat is no joke) that expanded behind them. Once we were satisfied with couples portraits, we brought out Nicole & Josh’s wedding party to celebrate with them and capture some fun, energetic photos. A variety of bright, fun colors – purples, greens, yellows, and oranges surrounded Nicole as her bridesmaids stood alongside her. And Josh’s groomsmen donned classy black suits, perfectly contrasting Josh’s light tan wedding attire.
Nestled in the breathtaking backdrop of a scenic ski resort, Nicole and Josh exchanged their rings against the fun sight of a ski lift, perfectly encapsulating their love for adventure and the mountains. Their ceremony was filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and a palpable sense of joy that resonated among friends and family gathered to celebrate their union. As the bright blue sky and trees created the backdrop for their marriage ceremony, every photograph captured not just the scenic beauty but the raw emotion of the day – from their beaming smiles to the spontaneous bursts of laughter that highlighted the depth of their connection.
Because Nicole and Josh had decided to capture most of their portraits before their ceremony, we waited until the light was absolutely perfect to take a journey to the top of the Snowshoe Mountain Resort for golden hour portraits. As the sun dipped lower in the sky, it cast a warm glow over the couple, creating an ethereal backdrop for some individual and couples portraits. Together, they strolled along the picturesque overlook, with me in tow, capturing those genuine moments of joy as they walked, ran, and spun in the tall grass. The images we created together were nothing short of stunning. Seriously… does anyone here have the phone number for Vogue? Because I have some submissions I’d like to share *cue the Will Smith showing off Jada meme*
At last, it was time for my favorite part of the day – dinner! Just kidding, it was the reception! The energy in the air was electric as Nicole and Josh took to the dance floor for their fun first dance, followed by heartwarming dances with their parents. The atmosphere quickly transformed into a vibrant celebration filled with laughter, delicious food, and flowing drinks. Surrounded by their family and friends, the couple danced the night away, sharing colorful sunglasses and fun maracas with their guests. I couldn’t resist stealing them away for a handful of sexy elevator photos, capturing their love in a playful way before the cake cutting ceremony brought their night to a sweet close.
